Kamal Hassan’s Chakri-directed Unnai Pol Oruvan with Mohanlal is almost 90 per cent complete. The film, a remake of the Bollywood trendsetter A Wednesday, is going to be a different film in Tamil.

Kamal fans wanted it to be released on August 12, 2009, for sentimental reasons. It is the 50th Golden Jubilee year since the Ulaganayagan’s first film as a child artist Kalathoor Kannamma released on August 12, 1959.

Now, working on those sentiments, the trade wants it to be released on August 12, too, in Tamil and Telugu. The film has the potential to take a bumper five-day (August 12 being a Wednesday) record opening worldwide, as it is the Independence day weekend.

ENDHIRAN MOVIE NEWS

Endhiran is the movie with Director Shankar and Superstar combination, following the grand sucess of the movie Shivaji.It is being produced by Sun pictures.Rajinikanth pairs with Ishwarya Rai for the first time which was his long time dream.

Enthiran (The Robot) director Shankar’s dream project with Superstar Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai has generated a lot of interest among the fans. Rajini and Shankar who boast of having a superhit formula have grouped in a exceptional team for this Endhiran Movie. Music director A R Rahman and ace cameraman Rathnavelu also form the part of Shankar’s creative team.

The animatronics of the film will be handled by the Stan Winston Studio (USA), which was responsible for the impressive animation sequences in movies such as Predator, Jurassic Park, Pearl Harbor, Iron man and the Terminator, while Mary E Vogt, the well known designer who has worked in Hollywood movies like Men in Black, Batman Returns and Inspector Gadget will be designing the scientific outfits for Enthiran. Stunt director Yuen Woo Ping, who made audiences gasp with his stunts in Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Matrix and Kill Bill, will handle the action for the movie
